      Similar to Santa Rosa, except that the banks outside of the
      snake run are bigger and kind of form their own snake runs.
      There is a deep bowl with steel coping and many of the lips are
      grindable.

      Atascadero Skatepark
      Atascadero CA
      About ten min north of the San Luis Obispo Skatepark. It has a
      nice cement pyramid with 2 handrails and 2 ledges, one 4 foot
      quarter pipe, a 3 foot quarter pipe, a high bank, a couple small
      rails, a box, and a table top with a ledge. $1

      Benicia Skatepark
      Benicia, California
      Small concrete banks, officially an amphitheatre. Free.

      Blythe CA
      Ridiculously tight snake run, bumpy cement spine ramp, micro
      pyramid, 1 ft tall grinder box, round flat bar, 2 funky wedge ramps
      come together as one with rail on top. Located in Todd Park on
      the corner of Brodway & Lovken, free, pads required.

      From LA take the 10 East, exit Downtown Orange St.; at the first
      stop sign turn right on N. Eureka; turn left on Stuart Ave. The
      park is on the right side. It features 7000 sq. ft. indoor area w/ 2
      40ft wide back to back mini ramps. Also, there is an outdoor
      street course featuring bank ramps, rails, launches, quarter
      pipes, pyramids, and an 11ft vert quarter pipe. Call for session

      Calistoga Skateboard Park

      Campbell Skatepark
      It is on west Campbell Ave.
      At Campbell Community Center, in downtown Campbell, CA
      6 Spine, 5 ft. flybox, a steep pyramid, many rails, a funbox, and
      the whack wall-of-vert Pads advised.

      Claremont Public Skatepark
      Claremont, CA
      Claremont is on the edge of Los Angeles county, bordering
      Upland. If you are on the 210 freeway, heading west, the freeway
      ends in La Verne. The freeway ends and goes right into Foothill
      Blvd. Take Foothill west. You will pass through Pomona really
      quick and into Claremont. If you are heading west, you'll get to
      Indian Hill Blvd. in Claremont. At Indian Hill, turn left (so you're
      now heading north). You'll pass Claremont High School on the
      left, and right above CHS is the skatepark. The park is cement.
      It's not very large, but it looks like it's built well. It has a nice
      pyramid, a few rails, some nice ledges, and a 4 foot bowl.

      Community Park

      Small park run by city. It's on Covell St.

      Cunha Skatepark
      Half Moon Bay, CA
      It's free and has a 5-foot mini ramp and a full street course with
      multiple quarter pipes, rails, fun box and flat ramps. It does
      require pads. The helmet is the key issue. Tickets have been
      issued for violators It's off Hwy 1 (you take 92 to hwy 1) and next
      to the high school on Kelly St.

      Derby Skatepark

      Concrete snakerun built in the mid 70s. Roll-out deck added in
      late 80s. Free.

      Escondido Sports Center Skatepark
      Escondido, CA

      This park is amazing. It features a 48' wide vert ramp, a 6' tall
      mini ramp with hip and spine, and a multi faceted street course
      that offers many, many lines. All participants must have a valid
      Pass-Sport card in order to enter the skate area. City staff will
      check each skater's card as they enter. Minors must have their
      parent or guardian sign the application in order to obtain a
      Pass-Sport card. The City will loan safety equipment (pads,
      helmets), at no charge, to those who do not have it on a first
      come, first served basis. Helmet, knee pads, elbow pads are
      required. Pass-Sport card: The annual fee is $15 and includes a
      fancy I.D. card, a T-shirt, and eligibility to participate in all Center
      programs. Session fees: weekdays=$4/session
      weekends=$6/session Single Session pass: Skaters who do not
      wish to purchase an annual Pass-Sport card may purchase a
      single session pass at $10/session. A one-day Pass-Sport
      application must be signed.From I-15 exit via rancho parkway
      and head east, the road curves to the north keep going and you'll
      see Kit Carson Park to your left. take the 2nd left into that
      park.It's about 30 minutes from downtown San Diego.

      Ground Zero Skatepark / Sugarhill #2
      Madera, CA
      The best 5ft wooden bowl w/ spine resides here. It has a small
      street course and vert ramp. They took over an adjoining unit and
      added a pretty large street area. The back wall is a giant vert wall
      with a couple of interesting diversions.

      Greer Park (aka Palo Alto Park)
      Palo Alto, California
      Big concrete bowls and banks. Free. From HWY 101, exit at
      Oregon Expressway. Go west to Bayshore Drive, turn left. Park
      is on right.
 
 
 

      Hanford Public Skatepark

      It has ledges, a monster pyramid, 2 boxes, hips, a bank to wall,
      and a twinkie. It has 2 rails, one slanted down a drop and one
      straight. It's a 9000 sq ft outdoor, concrete park that is free,
      unsupervised, but pads are advised.

      Located in Murdy Park at the corner of Goldenwest and Heil.
      Free, no pads required, and 24-7.Itís very small and not too much
      fun.

      the corner of Yorktown and Main St. This park is a little bigger
      than Murdy Park and is about twice the fun. Free, no pads

      IB Skatepark

      Indoor street course. 16 ramps 3-6ft tall, pyramid, rails, quarter
      pipes, etc.From I-5 take the Coronado exit and turn right
      (WEST), after 5th Ave look for the "sports park building" across
      from the football field and mar vista high school.

      Modesto Public Skatepark

      Located at Beyer Park.
      Free, no pads, and it's all concrete. Early reports are saying this
      park is a good one.

      Morro Bay Skatepark
      Morro Bay, CA
      It's small but easy to rip in. Expect limited hours. It has a
      halfpipe, bank, pyramid, rail, square kinked rail, boxes, and a
      couple 3 foot quarter pipes. It costs $1.00 to get in.

      Mountain View Public Skatepark
      Mountain View, CA (2-3 miles east of Palo Alto)
      It's located in Rengstorff Park on Rengstorff Avenue.
      It is free. The hours are from sunrise to sunset. It has a pyramid,
      6' spine, 6' quarter pipe, 5' fly box with a 1' rail on the side of it, 1
      1/2' manual box, and a 10" square rail. Take 101 and get off on
      Rengstorff Avenue. The park will be on your right.
      You have to wear all your pads (knee, elbow, and I think wrist)
      and a helmet. It is supervised. They don't rent pads.

      Napa Skatepark

      Neighborhood Skatepark
      Lodi, CA

      Novato Public Skatepark
      Novato, CA
      It has a 20ft wide half pipe, 1/4 pipes, a speed wall, rails, a fun
      box, and launch ramps. It's small but incredibly fun. It's about 20
      minutes south of the Santa Rosa park, and fifteen south of
      Petaluma. Free and outdoor, but supervised. Novato is about 40
      miles north of San Francisco. Take the Diablo Rd. exit off of
      highway 101 and turn right at Novato Blvd, then another right on
      Talmapais. It's on the right.

      OB One Skatepark
      4790 Santa Monica
      Ocean Beach, CA
      Located and run by the Ocean Beach Baptist Church, it has a
      5x20' mini ramp. One side has steel coping and the other has
      pool coping. Full pads are required and it costs money. Only
      open in the afternoon on Tues, Fri, and Sat.

      Paradise Public Skatepark
      Paradise, CA Southwest of Chico
      It is free, wood, and outdoor. There are two half pipes, a spine, a
      pyramid, two quarter pipes, a wall ride, a 3 ft hand rail, a 3 stair,
      and half of a bowl. The park is set up for all different skill levels so
      anyone can have fun. Take the skyway to paradise and the park
      is downtown near BURGER KING.

      Petaluma Public Skatepark
      Petaluma, CA
      You'll find bowls, bars, and hips, the whole nine. The park has 2
      bowls, 2 fun boxes, 2 "volcano's", various rails and a lot of
      transitions. Free and no pads, just like Santa Rosa used to be.
      Go up the 101 about 30 min. from SF, take the Washington St.
      exit and turn left, youíll see the park on your left.
 
 
 

      Pleasanton (FGO) Public Skatepark
      Pleasanton, CA
      Small, concrete park, free, must wear pads (is not enforced and
      no one does). The park consists of a concrete street course
      made with a pyramid, three different sized blocks, a hip, and a
      four stair. It is off highway 580 at the Hopyard exit. Once you're
      cruising down Hopyard Road you make a left at Pleasanton
      Sports Park and you're there. Remember to keep going until you
      see the park because it is a ways down Hopyard.

      RSA Skatepark

      mainly for in liners but does have some fun mini ramps. No street
      course and a sketchy vert ramp.

      San Jose Ramp Club

      Vert Ramp, large banks, wallride, 1/4 pipes, spine
      $5 per session. its open wed,thur,fri 5:30-10:00 sat 2-10
      Major Cross streets: Senter and Monterey roads. Located on
      Umbarger behind Fairgrounds.

      San Leandro Public Skatepark
      San Leandro, CA
      From SF take the 880 south and exit Davis St. The sign off the
      880 should say something about the BART station. Head east on
      Davis and look for Thrasher Park on your right. If you get to the
      BART station you've gone too far. The skateboard facility is in
      that park. It is all concrete and features solid quarter pipes that
      form a hip in one area and spines into a bowl that is 7/8
      completed. The funbox is a waste of concrete. The park is free
      but supervised. They want you to wear all pads but as long as
      you have on pants and a long sleeve shirt, you can get away w/
      only a helmet. They have lights so skating at night does happen,
      but only till 8pm. It's pretty darn fun if you're in the area.

      San Luis Obispo Skatepark
      San Luis Obispo, California
      It has a 3" high fun box, a 18" high fun box, a bank to wall, a
      super kinked handrail and a messed up rail. There is also a 4'
      high 10' wide beat up mini ramp. It costs $2.00 to get in and they
      make you wear silly pink helmets.

      San Mateo Skatepark
      San Mateo, CA
      It has 2 quarter pipes set up like a halfpipe, a spine, a bank, and
      fun box. At Bayside/Joinville school. Only tempary and kinda
      sucks but its something!

      Santa Rosa Skatepark
      Santa Rosa, California
      This park rules and if you haven't seen pictures of it you are
      avoiding all skate publications. Snake runs and hips galore. No
      grindable lips. It's free and open dusk to dawn. The police have
      been giving fines if they catch you without your helmet on your
      head. My advice is to bring your helmet but don't wear it till you
      see the cops drive into the park. At that time, either put on your
      helmet or exit the facility. From hwy. 101 take Guerneville Rd.
      exit, head west. Make right on Fulton rd. The park is on your left
      across from a high school.
 
 
 

      Santa Fe Springs Skatepark
      Santa Fe Springs, CA
      It has a 4ft quarter pipe/launch ramp with landing bank, a bump,
      a kinked rail, a curved rail, a pyramid, and other stuff. Ramps are
      kind of steep but it's free so it's cool. They give you helmets open
      Mon-Sat 3pm to 10pm

      Santee Skatepark
      Santee, CA
      From San Diego get to Hwy 52 and head East. Exit Mast Blvd
      and head north. Turn left on Magnolia, then left on Wood Glen
      Vista, the facility is in the park on your right.
      Outdoor concrete park featuring many design flaws, but you can
      skate the pyramid w/ rail attached, the half of a bowl, a mellow
      hip, and a kicker. Pads are required and the cops have been
      writing tickets. Watch your back.

      The park features birch imported from Finland, the fastest layer
      available. Built by Tim Payne, the park features 15,400 sq. feet of
      skateable terrain including an 8' wood(birch) right hand kidney
      bowl, 2 metal covered halfpipes (a 4' and a 6'), and an expansive
      birch covered street course. Finally they have a separate room
      just for the kiddies as well as a pro shop and skater's lounge.
      They also house a museum with the largest collection of
      SKATEBOARDS ever assembled. From the 405 or 5, take 118
      west, exit Stearns and head south, turn right (west) on Cochran,
      turn left (south) on Tapo, then a right on Valley Fair St., which is
      right before the train tracks. The park is on your left 1 block up
      4226 Valley Fair St. Open 7 days a week. Knee, elbow, and
      helmet are required and available for rent. Call for session times
      and costs.

      Skatesipuedes Public Skatepark
      Santa Barbara, CA next to SBHS
      It looks like pads are required. The new park is temporary while a
      permanent facility is being built. It is open 3:30 to 5:30 Mon-Fri.
      and all day weekends. It consists of a 24 foot wide mini ramp
      (variable 4 to 6ft high), a pyramid, funbox, 2 handrails, banks,
      quarter pipes and all the goodies. You can find it at the
      community park near the North end of Ortega Street, downtown
      Santa Barbara.

      The Skate Station
      Sand City(right next door to Monterey, on East St.)
      Indoor park has an 11.5 vert ramp, trannies to wall, a corner bowl,
      and a 6' mini with a spine. Its small, but pretty fun. They also
      have a board shop.

      which is Knoll Drive. Itís the second building on the left.
      29,000 sq. ft. indoor warehouse with 2 half pipes (56' wide vert
      ramp, 50' wide 4í tall mini w/ a hip, channel and spine to the
      street course) and a wooden bowl. And don't forget the 15,000
      sq. ft. street course with banks, bowl corners, ledges, pyramid,
      fun boxes, handrails. 3,000 sq. ft. beginner area.

      Please note that skating is in three hour session and that there
      are some sessions that are age restricted. Call for a breakdown

      release waiver. If you are under 18, the waiver must be signed by
      a legal guardian and notarized. This waiver can be faxed ahead of
      time and notarized at your convenience, or your parent can come
      in and utilize our in-house notary for free. Everyone must wear a
      helmet, elbow, and knee pads at all times. We have them for rent
      on a limited first come first served basis.

      Skater's Paradise Skatepark

      From Chico you take the skyway to paradise and keep on going
      up the skyway past burger king and the park is called skaters
      paradise. It is free of charge and there is a sign that says
      "HELMET AND PADS SHOULD BE WORN". no one wears them
      and no one cares.

      Sonora Public Skatepark
      Sonora, CA
      Three concrete bowls, a vert wall, and a small pyramid.It's free
      and open all the time. You are required to wear a helmet but not
      many people do. It also has a few rails and port-a-potties so you
      never have to leave!

      South Lake Tahoe Public Skatepark
      South Lake Tahoe, CA in Bijou Park.
      This park is all under 4 feet tall, all concrete, and free. It is super
      fun in my opinion. A beautiful and calming atmosphere awaits
      you.

      The Spot Skatepark
      Pittsburg, CA
      It is open every other Friday 9-12, and has launch ramps, boxes,
      rails, banks, and a 3 foot mini that looks like a miniature vert
      ramp. First time free, next time 3$, It's at a church so expect
      some preaching time.

      Sugar Hill Skatepark

      Vans Skatepark - The Block Mall

      It has a $50 annual membership and I'm not sure of the price per
      session.It should open by the end of Nov 1998 and will feature a
      huge street course, an 80ft wide vert ramp, a replica of Upland's
      combi-pool, a smaller concrete pool, and a retail shop.

      Walnut Creek Skatepark
      In Heather Farms Park (next to the baseball field)
      This skatepark is like Mountain View Park but is bigger with a
      Hubba ledge, fly boxes, quarter pipes, and much more including
      jump ramps and manual boxes and rails and everything has
      some grindable edge or lip of some sort. You have to pay 5$ to
      get in. Pads required.

      Yuba City Public Skatepark
      Yuba City, CA (about 45min North of Sacramento on Hwy 99).
      Yuba City Skatepark is on Gray Ave. Between the Kmart and a
      school next to the tennis courts in the back of the parking lot. It
      is on Grey Ave. between Bridge St, and Colusa, both of which
      connect to 99. WARNING: if the girls look good, they aren't old
      enough.
      It has hips, bowls, stairs, bench-high blocks, and a 7' spine. Itís
      behind Kmart in a big public park.
